Portfolio Concept

With this portfolio I would like to both demonstrate my abilities and showcase my work. I have worked with a lot of other online courses, so I would like to link to my progress within each course. I have also collaborated with a start up company in Trondheim, Norway, so would like to highlight the work I have done with them. I will add any other work to this site as it comes.

Project Goals

I have so far given myself goals for the first 2 sections of the Career Foundry course. I would like to complete the first section by the 1st of February, and the second section by the 22nd of February. I would like to complete these first sections fairly quickly as I have quite a lot of experience with Front End Development already, so am eager to advance to the Back End material.

Course Goals

By completing this course, I hope to finally move away from working in bars and restaurants, and into a career where I can create and enjoy an ongoing learning experience. I have a lot of ambitions for this career change, but my initial goal is to work for a company solidly for 1 year to take my Web Development skills to the next level.

Web Development is more important now than ever, and I hope that I can do my part to help others with this tool

My Story

Over the last few years I have visited a lot of different places and have had some quite unique experiences. A lot of my most memorable moments have been made possible thanks to certain websites, a lot of which have all had a similar money-free philosophy. This has lead me to believe that I might be able to do some good in this world, through programming. If you want to know more about my mission, ask away.

Learn More

If you are interested in finding out a little more about me, below are the answers to a few questions you may have.

Well, a number of reasons really, but they all hover around a common goal. I spent the first half of my 20’s travelling around Oceania and Southeast Asia where I had some fantastic, unique experiences. I was using websites like helpx, couchsurfing and wwoof to seek out less travelled areas of these countries and was really blown away by the results. By far my favourite experiences were found this way, and it gave me the opportunity to experiment with a money-free lifestyle. It has become a goal of mine to create something that allows even more people to enjoy this way of living, and I believe I can achieve this through Web Development.

Anything that is aiming to help in some way. Helping people, animals, the environment. If the client has a positive message they wish to spread, like Ducky, then I am happy to work with them.

Over quite a few years, I followed various free courses online, such as Free Code Camp and Code School. They got me to a certain level, but it wasn't until I completed my course at Career Foundry that I really felt like a true programmer.
